I've been living with an unspayed dog for 2 years now. She's gone into heat a few times since I met her but this last one was weird. She's a 14 year old Border Collie. During her last heat I noticed her discharge contained more mucous and less blood. She has been spotting on and off since June which she has never done. He appetite and general health is fine. She still plays and acts like she normally does but she does clean the discharge a lot by licking.
Is she going through something like menopause? I've looked on other sites and found conflicting information about Canine fertility. Is this normal? My BF assures me she's fine but I'd like some other opinions before dismissing it. Just in case.
