Car Sickness

My 4 month old american eskimo keeps getting car sick. We've tried taking her for small trips to get her used to it as well as keeping one of the back windows down a crack but nothing seems to be working. I read some of the previous posts in regards to this and I'm pretty sure it's not anxiety thats making her sick. She still loves her car rides! We keep her in the back seat and she's usually pretty quiet for the whole car ride. Once and a while she'll jump up and look out the window. I've also seen a number of posts in regards to gravol. I wouldn't want to give this to Phil unless I was going on a long trip. What are the suggestions for just short trips around town? Is this something she might grow out of? Any advice would be great, the car is starting to smell!!!
