The softness wasn't an issue actually. It was more the position of the guard and the actual filing tool. There is another tool that looks like it might work easier for the curve of a cats nails. I don't know, I just get really nervous cutting their nails, especially since I cut Vlad's quick once before and I felt terrible for the poor guy. I'm surprised he still even lets me cut his nails.
