Ditch the prescription food. What brand/type (ie dry or wet) is it? Honestly, there is almost never a good reason to fork over the big bucks for such poor quality food. A much better idea would be to feed a high protein, low carb wet food (still using portion control), or even balanced raw if you're up for it.
