The discharge is worrisome for sure--after 8 weeks she shouldn't still be having discharge from the pregnancy. The coat probably isn't indicative of a problem--the mother often blows her coat due to the stress of caring for the pups.

What you're describing--a gelatinous brownish mass--sounds like she's passing clots. I don't know how serious that might be--but if your friend sees any gross blood or even reddish clots, I'd get her in ASAP, regardless of having the appt on Monday. If the dog gets lethargic or goes off her food, same thing.

Is she eating and drinking well now?

Another suggestion--have your friend call up Dr Stelfox's office and explain what's happening. Ask them if that's something that can wait for three days. If they deem it necessary, I'll bet they can squeeze her in on an emergency basis.
