Well, any drastic change of behaviour should always have a vet rule out anything medical - of course.
It's not uncommon for our pets to change their behaviours as they get older though.
I would be curious if poop eating has ever been linked back to a medical reason - everything I've read has always indicated it's a self-rewarding behaviour.
