I have wondered the same thing! When I take her to the vet I will make sure they check to see if she has a micro chip with her owner's info. I just want to make sure she's not going back to an unsuitable home. I may end up putting an ad up on craigslist.com to see if anyone claims her. I've lost pets before too and its very heartbreaking but I don't want to see this baby go back to a bad place again.
