I walked out to the road this morning and the dogbane was blooming.  If that's what you have, mollywog, the flowers look like this:
They come off the ends of the stems like this (Ignore the maple leaf on the left in front of the blooms. The flowers belong to the leaves on the right, which come off the stem opposite to each other...)
The flowers are really quite small--maybe a quarter inch or so across...less than half an inch for sure...
