Well, yours has me stumped. It seems to be a butterfly cat of some kind, but gosh if I can figure it out. My gut is telling me it's something pesty...attacks crops or trees...

the lighting is kind of weird, is the main body colour brown/beige? And the stripe on the side, is it red or pink?

I've been seeing the fuzzy caterpillars all winter. They seem to be coming out in weird places.
Lighting was actually bang on in the first pic. The stripe was pinkish I think. I didn't get up that close and personal.
Bugs and I are not normally on speaking terms. I release any that get into the house as long as they don't look like they want to take a piece of me with them. This guy looked pretty harmless. Pesty huh? Maybe I should have flushed him like hubby said too.
hazel - we have only had maybe six inches of snow all winter. It's been raining today all afternoon and tonight so most of it is gone.
