As TQ had stated earlier, it is possible that she sees you as a threat. You were the one who took her from her first home. She may see you as wanting to take her away from her new home where she is quite obviously happy.
When he was home did you go over and spend time with them? If so was she ok with that? If that is the case I would think she is thinking that you are there to take her away. Not to look after her.
