There are tons of dogs in Toronto, in shelters and rescues. With the shelters I would just pop in and look around. TAS has several locations in Toronto, and are on petharbor, and you can look on petfinder.com as well.
I don't know rescues that would bring a dog to you for a meeting, most will ask you to go to them, I do.
