If they haven't done it yet, I would ask for a full blood panel, and get a copy of it and also look for things out of the range.

There might be a number of things that can cause this, including pain and inflammation, but so can goofy glucose levels (do fast for the the test), or electrolyte imbalances, and I'm sure other things too.
