The best time for you to look for him would be during the night. Put out a box or his litter box in your back yard and check on it frequently during the night.
If you are outside looking for him at night, carry a flashlight to shine into nooks, crevices and under bushes.
Can you get a humane trap from the local shelter?
Not sure if he is a typical Ragdoll personality, but if he is I hope you find him soon
, they just don't typically fight back
