Try to keep him from jumping on counters etc.. Maybe put him in a room on his own to ensure he stays confined and calm.
Is there anything that he is doing that is out of character?
Also - make sure he does not chew on his stitches.
I have 6 cats. 5 out of 6 bounced back almost immediately. My siamese was rather quiet but nothing alarming.
