Well If your cat is not fixed,I suggest you get him fixed.I have always gotten my cats fixed.And yes they do gain a bit of weight.The vet will caution you about that.My female Calico was starting to spray(yes some females spray)I got her fixed.I should have done that before she came in heat.That was my fault.After she got fixed she never sprayed again.And let me tell you,she has put on the beef.She was 6lbs and is now up to 10lbs.She seems to want to eat more.She is still very active.And she is 2.Good luck.
