Oh there's lots of hiding places for him. He doesn't have to worry about the other fish eating him, apparently they don't eat fry, just eggs. It's the dragonfly larve and crayfish he has to worry about. I tried to look for him when I got home, but they're hard to spot unless the sun is on the pond in the right direction, and of course we had nothing but big black thunderclouds overhead when I got home. I'll be looking for him tomorrow though.
