I've never bought those roses packed in plastic,I believe it's always better to buy a potted rose,a little more expensive,but worth it.

I have about 15 rose-bushes my pink one is more than 30 yrs old.
Thank you for your advice. I did have one that I thought would do well and then a varmint burrowed under the roots and exposed some of the roots to the winter weather, but it hung in and is slowly coming back. I buy my roses from the garden centres, not in plastic bags. So I am O.K. that way.
I am going back to the garden centre and see what they have that are hardy, using the names I read on this thread. Thanks everyone.
Maybe in a couple of years I will be able to post my roses. Yours are lovely.
