I think that has a blade in it? Making it a copy cat furminator?

Be cautious of using such tools, overuse can damage topcoat on a double coated breed like a Lab. I would not use one at all on a puppy who's coat is naturally going to shed as pup's adult coat comes in.

Dogs and cats shed, there is no escaping it. Learn to embrace a certain amount of hair, use non-damaging brushes as needed or go to a groomer is my opinion. For my Lab I find a rubber curry comb (cheaper than a zoom groom where I go) and a slicker brush do the trick and no chance of cutting topcoat. I admit I am afraid of the bladed tools.
