Pattymac, they could all be sitting in your recycle bin. Click on that (Recycle Bin) and you should see a bunch of files in it. Then click "view" then click "Thumbnails" in view.
Click on the pictures you want then on the upper left it says "restore this item". This will put them back into the existing folder.
