Of course these sorts of things happen, it really doesn't surprise me at all. I had Myka and Lacy cremated and I have both of their ashes. If those ashes are not my pets' ashes I would not be concerned as I don't feel that our pets "soul" or whatever you would like to believe is attached to their remains whether they are buried or cremated. I feel like these ashes, no matter what they are from, are a token of remembrance much like a gravestone, except more portable.
