Bone meal?

Maybe a bit of bone meal might work.

I used to give my dogs beef marrow bones, and once in a while they would actually swallow small pieces of bone (that's why I don't do it any more, I would...

Maybe somebody should start a combination dog park/cemetery!

Personally I would prefer to be buried in a dog park than a regular old cemetery, many of which seem awfully desolate and deserted...

Puppy pads

If it's just a couple of times a month, maybe you could just place a puppy pad (either the disposable kind or the reusable/washable type) where she pees (since it seems to be always in the same...

Doggie "safe room"

It would be nice to have a "safe room" (like the one Jodie Foster made for herself in the movie of the same name a few years ago) for dogs, or even a soundproofed closet, where you could take the dog...

Have you checked out www.petfriendly.ca?

Spca will tell you if dog is ok with cats

Have you considered your local Humane Society?

Most Humane Society organizations do testing of any animals they accept to determine if the dog is good with cats and other small animals, and they...

I'll try the scarves first

Well, several people have said the scarves/bandannas work, so I think I will try them first - they seem to be much less expensive than the coats I've seen.

Maybe I can find some at my local...

Sprinklers too?

A sprinkler might work, too, if your dog doesn't like a pool.

I remember having a Donald Duck sprinkler in the back yard when I was a kid - basically just a device shaped like Donald Duck's head...

Tried canine cooling vests?

Has anyone tried any of the canine "cooling vests" that are on the market?

I didn't know if there even was such a thing, but I've been thinking about something like this for a few days, since it...

Lightbulb Bird calls

This is going to sound weird, but sometimes, when nothing else seems to work, my three year old Shar Pei, Sophie (who also wants to Stay Out All The Time, because there's so many more squirrels to be...

Yes, it was

Yes, I guess it was what you call a "Gentle Leader".

Out of curiosity, I did a Google search and found several other dog forums discussing its use.

Most of the reviews were positive, however I...

Question Muzzles ok in heat?

Just a question.

I saw someone walking their dog yesterday - a collie/sheltie type breed, with a long, thick, heavy coat.

The owner was using one of those muzzles that is basically a strap...

I walk my dogs in my local park every day, and lately, I've been seeing a woman walking two chocolate labs.

One of the dogs is really, really old, with a white muzzle. The other dog appears to be...

Question Pet "retirement homes"?

This is a question.

The thought occurred to me recently that, should I die, my pets would most likely end up in my local Humane Society shelter, which, unfortunately, is not a "no-kill" shelter. ...

I guess if you were to attempt such a thing, you would start with a group of female dogs whose parents lived to a longer-than-average age.

Then you would have to find male dogs with the same...

I know there are some breeds that...
