I would check for any insect bites first. Check really carefully. Could be an allergic reaction.

But it could also be a sprain or a torn ligament too.

As long as there are no other problems your cat should be able to live with just one kidney.

Unfortunately you need to determine what is causing the rash.

It could be many things including poor nutrition, ringworm, other parasites etc.

The dog may also need anti biotics to get rid of...
