I good rule of thumb for litterboxes is 1 more than the amount of cats. You should get 2 more boxes.

Rubbing catnip on cats

Yup that's right.

I have heard this and tried it myself and it works.

If the cat is sensitive to catnip (50% of cats are) then rub some catnip on Bijou and see if aspen approaches to lick him....
