There is a lot going on here. First off Neutering the cat will help if you have not done that...I will assume you have,

2nd if this is a new behaviour then you must rule out urinary tract...

This sound like a classic respiratory problem or infection.

If it does not resolve itself within a day or two then antibiotics are probably called for.

Your dog may have eaten something it shouldn`t have.

If symptoms persist after 24...

Shorthaired kittens usually have eyes open between 5-8 days.

2 days may be a record, but IMHO probably not anything to worry about.

Their water is changed every day and they do drink enough.
