Probably two days. The other plus is that the infections, which used to be chronic, have all but disappeared.

FYI, the reason I go to two vets is pure logistics: I've had the same vet, whom I like and trust, for 20 years. Six years ago I moved an hour away from clinic, and began working another hour away....

Rolo, my 15-yr-old lab cross used to have terrible, long-running infections until we got these miracle ear drops: MometaMax. They are the only thing that ever helped Rolo.

I have asked the main vet if something like depo-medrol could be used to make Rolo more comfortable. He said no. I really haven't gotten a definitive explanation about why his eyes are so irritated...

Thanks. Rolo has very little hair around eyes. The gunk doesn't get stuck in his hair. The crusty part gets stuck to the runny part that hasn't got crusty yet. The word "extraction" comes to mind....
