After the Spaying

Kelly II is doing much better three days after her surgery. She is back to bouncing around, only in moderation.

Absolutely beautiful shots of the ferrets. Amazing how they were able to be still long enough for a photo.

After the Spaying

Kelly II is happy to be home with her teddy after being spayed today. She looks a bit depressed right now, but she should perk up by tomorrow.

Losing a pet

Very sorry on your loss. We, too, had to put our dog, Kelly, to sleep last April as he was 18 years old and had really lost most interest in life. You are right about having to make these decisions,...

Hawk

WE watch a lot of nature shows and, even though we hate to see hawks around our feeder, we realize that the small birds we feed are part of the food chain and there is nothing we can do about it. If...

I have witnessed a sharp-shinned chasing a mourning dove, and as fast and agile as the mourning dove is, he didn't...

In your situation, I think you made the best choice with what information was available to you. I would likely have made the same decision, and, like you, I would still be wondering if it was the...

Early Stage Kidney Failure

Our mixed breed dog was diagnosed with very low kidney function at the age of about 13. We were told by the vet to put him on a low protien diet, so we purchased low protien dog food from the vet. We...

Seizures

Siezures can often be controlled with medication, but it is probably a lifelong thing. Our dog had mild seizures all his life, but they were not serious enough to warrant medication. Your dog's may...

Boreal Beak

Hi again Hazel:

I checked my bird book and it does appear that the Boreal has a somewhat shorter and narrower beak than the Black-Capped. I never knew this before.

We have not seen a Boreal...
