The only practical reason I have ever seen for tail docking is something called "happy tail". Large dogs have big tails which they wag quite fiercely. Sometimes, in doing so, the dog will damage...

Took Sarge to my regular vet 2 weeks ago because he just wasn't getting any better. She did some bloodwork and prescribed eye ointment, ear drops and penicillan ($422 later....)

Okay I rescued a mastiff, now what?
I now have the pleasure of hosting "Sarge" a brindled mastiff of about 5 years who I took from Animal Control in Toronto.
He's a lovey but he needs a lot of TLC. Great manners so far......
