At this point. We know its not the food. He has been noticeably more active after we gave him the painkiller and has nibbled on and off at his food, but i haven't seen him use the litter in awhile.

Yeah he will use the litterbox and pee. Its hard to tell if he is pooping since both cats use the same box. I don't think its a food issue for the simple fact he was eating wetfood for quite awhile...
