IKEA Let Loose a Herd of 100 Cats Into Store to "See What Happens"

Interesting concept....but they should have left them there overnight.

I thought the cat in the very beginning pulled off someone's toupee until I realized it was a cover for a mike or something. Can you imagine a customer buying and taking an item home and trying to figure out why his cat keeps sniffing it and rubbing against it?

What a terrible idea. I can't believe cat owners willingly allowed their pets to be part of that, subjected to the stress and fear they must have experienced at being dumped into a strange place with cats they didn't know and left.

The humans and cameras definitely affected the cats' behaviour that's for sure. At the beginning I thought it was more of an 'experiment', (what would cats do at night in a huge space) but the people and camera crew neutralized that aspect.

Maybe they should let 100 frogs (or 500 crickets) loose in the bedroom of the guy at the beginning, ya know - just to see what happens :D

I was thinking this too , a cat could also crawl into a small pipe and get stuck . I had two cats and had to bring them to my mother's house when I was staying over for a holiday . I hated having to do that to my cat ,it was very stressful for them and the female cat was freaked out. Plus there are people that have allergy to cat dander , and the cats where all over the chairs etc. This was a very bad idea.

I agree, the marketing people behind this obviously have no idea about cat psychology.
