Wow, scary. Lucky dog to survive. I wonder where the stove top controls were? I haven't seen a stove in years that had them at the front. They are at the back so children won't turn them on. Even if a pot or pot handle bumped a back control I sill have a hard imagining how it could turn an element on.

Or was the it the oven part? It would be a freaky thing but my oven controls are push button. I suppose a pot handle could push one but on mine it would have to push two to turn the oven on. The stove top controls are dials with a safety "click" to them. On mine.

One of my dog got hold of a box of wooden matches when I was out and she chewed on the matches. I was lucky my house did not burn down, I had safety matches they only worked when strikes on the box .
