Skin condition

Hi,
My cat has developed a skin condition on her belly.
Here is a picture:

I wonder if this is something serious? If I have to take her to a vet, I will have to take a day off from work (not easy)...

Thanks for your advice!

Has she been treated for fleas? They look like bad flea bites.

Welcome to the forum, escache!

Seeing that you're new, it's probably a good idea to warn you NOT to use any of the over-the-counter flea "treatments" available from retail stores...most are NOT SAFE, and many have caused the poisoning and death of thousands of cats...especially notorious are the Hartz products.

The safest course of action, if it's necessary at all, is to use a flea remedy from your Veterinarian.

I agree with Shay and doubly agree with Rustycat. :thumbs up

I admit years ago, I bought over the counter stuff as far as flea shampoos, area sprays, flea collars..the whole nine yards. I spent more money and time trying to battle flea problems until we switched to Revolution for our cats and Advantage II for our dogs.

Your picture does look like flea infestation and do yourself and kitty a huge favour. Spend a little extra money, take kitty to the vet and purchase quality topical products. :thumbs up

Good luck and please keep us posted. :)
