Maybe four or five but they come every day all day.

Do you make your own food for the hummingbirds??

Yep. I boil up about 8 cups every day.

Oh, whoops, :o sure. LOL

It's really easy. Dissolve 1 part granulated white sugar into 4 parts water. You'll have to heat it to get it all dissolved. If you think you'll be using what you make over more than a day, bring the solution to a rolling boil and then simmer it for 5 minutes. If you only make enough for the day, you don't need to boil it for the extra 5 minutes.

Cool and store the solution in the fridge.

He was back tonight, sitting on the same branch of the tree. The little devil uses that area as his private bathroom.:laughing: It is so neat to see him prean himself. I have never seen them do anything else but eat or fly.

The first time I saw a hummer preening, I thought, "Oh, look! Preening just like he thinks he's a real bird." :o D'oh, hazel, no kidding! :laughing:

I know what you mean, I had almost the same thoughts. I was actually shocked to see them sitting in a tree. But, many people don't believe me :laughing:

We started with one hummer, and soon there were 2-3 more trying to feed. The first one is such a bully he chases the others away, and once knocked one on the ground and appeared to be attacking him. We now have two feeders, he's still a bully, but at least the others have a chance to feed now.

Winston, just come up and sit on the swing, he will be sure to come visit.
