Growth on cat's face

Our 15 year old neutered male cat has a small growth on his face. It's been slowly getting larger, for about a year since first noticed. We hope to take him to the vet next month if possible, but meanwhile does anyone have any possible info?

Why would you wait a year before considering a vet visit? If it is malignant, the earlier it's caught, the better the prognosis. You need to see a vet asap.

Did you read the entire post??? I cannot afford to take him to the vet.

I've been unemployed for 2 years, and am 3 months behind on rent. I have two broken teeth myself and can't afford to go to the dentist.

So far, people here are not very helpful..

Wow..I dont see anywhere in your post that says you are unemployed behind in rent or missing teeth?? regardless you have to admit that your cat needs some veterinary attention ?? so why not expect that response.??

I will really tell you the same thing?? you need to see a vet?? especially if as you indicated it is getting larger?? We are not vets here and all we can tell you is to see one?? it wouldnt be fare to you or your pet for us to try and diagnose from a photo?

Sorry you didnt get the expected response

Oh and in repsonse to your question? I did read your entire post and it did not mention any of the above??

Welcome to the site anyway.

Yes, I did read the entire post.

No where in there did it say anything except noticing it a year ago and you "hope" to see a vet next month. No one here will be able to diagnose your cat. He needs to be seen by a vet. Hopefully it isn't too late.

Probably a papilloma.

It needs to be checked out regardless, because even if it is benign it can rupture. That would be a terrible mess to clean up, and if it becomes infected your cat will die without treatment.

Sorry to hear about your financial troubles. I lost my job 2 days before Thanksgiving. Instead of just ignoring the problem, perhaps you should have sought some assistance several months ago? If it is malignant, it probably has already spread to the lymph system or other areas of the body.

I suppose I assumed it would be obvious that I am in financial difficulties since I can't take him to the vet right away... I've been unemployed for two years, and an 3 months behind on my rent.
