A problem with an older dog

Hello!
Here is the thing.
We are talking about an older dog, a Pekingese about 10-15 years of age. Recently, she started having a problem. After activity (e. g. going outside and then coming back) she breaths fast and squeals. She has been taken to vets for tests, but they turned out negative (they found no problems in her body by the biological tests). What do you think is the cause of this, and what would you advise?

Has your vet run X-Rays?

Would your vet prescribe some pain medications? Giving pain medications 30-45 minutes prior to activity could help determine if the panting and squealling is pain based. This could help us towards a solution.

Thanks for your time.
We have been informed that they did both X-rays and blood tests and they all came out pretty good. But they said that, because she is an older dog, her hart is a bit bigger and that that's the problem, like with humans. The vet suggested medication at first with human medicine, which has evidently helped her. He will also give us a medication, made just for dogs, called 'vetmedin'. What is your opinion of this?
And also, a few more questions:
How long could she live due to this status of hers, but also taking into consideration that all other body functions are normal?
Also, could you suggest a dosage and timing for her treatment with 'vetmedin'?
Thank you again.

Anyone? Any ideas?

Your vet would probably have the answers for you as he/she has been following your dog and have more of a background history.
