Catt31,You have my complete sympathy!!! Actually the father of my freinds grandson is a highschool teacher, but has absolutely no say in bringing up his son.
He's had soo many problems with inner city students,he's currently undergoing therapy. It's a different world today and not for the better!!
Oh,by the way,I was listening to your "honorable" Ralph Klein yesterday, defending his lavish spending. His favourite comment: Are you calling me a Liar!!! over and over again :D
Is he suffering from an intelligence defficiency??? :D (sp ?,I forgot I am writing a teacher :D )

Luba May 6th, 2004 09:34 AM

Catt think of how boring it would be if you weren't exposed to all those wonderful cultural diversities!! :D

Catt31 May 6th, 2004 04:41 PM

True true Luba!!!! I honestly DO love my job, I just hate the fact that our hands are sooo tied, they expect so much of US as teachers, but expect nothing of the children!! Its disgusting!! There needs to be some form of genetic weeding!! LMAO

I won't even START on Klein.... he isn't just intelligence DEFICIENT...he is intelligence LACKING!!!!! None whatsoever!! Not even sure he can tie his own shoes!!

Catt31? Okay, every time I see your posts, I mean to ask - can you show a pic of those two giant land snails? This I have to see!:D

Luba May 8th, 2004 08:10 PM

Okay well speaking of your desire to see snails LR can I mention a little something (it's grosse though).

We have been getting a lot of rain lately. There are snails here and there in the garden.

This morning outside in the rain with Sadie, I take her to the back of the yard to where I like her to go to the w/r.

I look down to make sure I don't step in 'anything' if you know what I mean.
And there, in Sadie's last nights poop is a snail. Mouth wide open and sucking the daylights outta that poop! I had to shake my head, then I took a little twig and moved it gently to make sure I saw what I did. It seemed to take a breather for a second then back to sucking. I swear it looked like an infant nursing on something, latched right on there boy.

To be quite honest with you, I was going to take a picture...but had an umbrella in one hand and a leash in the other so you guys are lucky.

LMFAO!!!!!! OMg that is too funny!!! I'd like to see Sadie pass one of these babies though!!!! LOL

Here ya go LR, the pics hardly do them justice. They are about the size of an apple right now and are about 1 year old. We just gave them a big chunk of watermelon yesterday, and they ate it within 30 minutes!!! They are speed demons!!! :D

Spoiled, I'd be telling your friend (the parent) that your pooch is your kid and you don't want their kid touching your kid. It's their responsibility to make sure their kid doesn't destroy your house or disturb your dog. Just like a while ago, a friend brough their male dog to my place and let it off the leash at the door. Dog ran around the house getting into everything including Bob's food bowl and eventually his bed.
End result. Bob said enough is enough and pinned the dog against the wall while he was trying to rip a hole in the dogs head. You are more than welcome to use that story with them.

Or better yet, buy them one of those stupid child harnasses people used to use (I hated that thing). At least it will subtly send a message. Just as you are responsible for your dog, they are responible for their 'cute little kid'.

The other day a boy about 7 or so came up to Bob with his hands waving around because he was excited and wanted to pet Bob. Kid looked a little developmentally delayed. Thankfully I had Bob on the leash and could keep him back from the kid, but he kept trying to pet him. I told the kid it wasn't a good time, but he didn't seem to understand. Bob scurried behind me, and the kid thought that was funny and started running around us in a circle still trying to get at Bob. Bob started growling at this point.

The parents thought that their kid chasing Bob around me was very funny and were laughing and expecting me to do the same. I loudly told them to "get your F&$%ing kid away from this dog or I will!"

That got their attention, but then they say "we didn't know your dog was vicious." Couldn't believe it. I told them I didn't know that being stupid could run in the family. That pretty much ended our interaction for the day.

Lucky Rescue May 12th, 2004 12:14 PM

Catt - those are amazing pics!

I used to have very large golden snails (don't know what they were called) in my aquarium. They were beautiful and interesting too!

I don't think they clean the tank....its just them in there, no water or other critters, just dirt and a cuttle bone!! They slime across the glass quite often with their mouths open, so maybe they do!! Who knows!!!

Thanks LR...they are pretty cool pets to have!! I love sitting watching them more than I like watching the fish or the lizards!!!

I took a couple more pics last night cuz Kamau was out and about!!! And a couple more of the leopard geckos, just cuz they are so darn cute!!! :D

Bill & Bob May 12th, 2004 07:58 PM

Ok, I hadn't said anything yet but those are cool. This morning I looked at the snails and was kind of thinking "yeesh. Gross.", but now I'm looking at them with a bit more of an appreciative eye. (I was out late last night)
That's funny about them plowing through the watermelon in 1/2 hour! Ravenous beasts.
Lizzards are great too.

Catt31 May 13th, 2004 08:32 AM

Thanks!!! :D Not many of my friends or family think they are cool...they think Tim & I are strange!!! LOL I don't really care, I love them!!! I love all my pets and can't wait to have a bigger house so I can get a bearded dragon!!!
