my cat skin problem
my cat licks and scratches all the time he has no fleas and he is lossing his hair and bleeding sometime what do i do
|
I would take the cat to the vet to see if there is any medical reason for the licking (like itching/irritated skin for whatever reason). Sometimes, however, cats over-groom themselves because of stress. It's an obsessive compulsive behavior. Has it been going on for awhile or only recently? Has there been any changes in the cat's environment?

It is more than likely due to stress,my Chico did the same, was bald on his tummy from over-grooming.
The vet gave me a cream to put on his bald spots and his hair soon grew back, but I also had to treat the reasons for his stress(too much attention to a new kitten)and Chico is now once again the boss,no more stress :D |
Consider adding brewer's yeast to the diet- about 5 tablets a day- either crushed on the food or popped into the mouth( grease the tablets first with a little butter) .
