Golden Retriever with special needs
 

Bucc is a 3 year old male golden who is absolutely perfect and beautiful. He unfortunately does have one health issue that makes him special needs. He has Ectopic Ureter. It is a condition where he will occasionally drip urine. He is completely house trained however there are times when urine drips without him knowing it.
Bucc has undergone surgery for this condition and it helped somewhat. While at home with his family he wears a kind of diaper that they created with a towel however when they are at work Bucc removes it thus leaving drips on the floor. His family has begun leaving him in the garage and Bucc is miserable so they have made the difficult decision to re-home him.
While researching this problem I found that medication sometimes works after surgery and this has not been tried yet although his family has tried everything else. I also found a garment that a dog can wear comfortably all day which will keep the house clean. He will have to be taught to keep it on.

I think there is a home for every dog, we just have to wait sometimes for the right person to come along.
There are ways to deal with Bucc's problem. He needs someone who is home to teach him to wear a doggy diaper or someone who has no carpeting and doesn't mind cleaning up his little messes.

I found a web site that sold a doggy garment which would be great for Bucc. They are called Tinkletrousers.

Bucc - update
 

I spoke with Bucc's owner yesterday and she reminded me that Bucc lives with two young children and is absolutely wonderful with them. He is also great with other dogs. I asked how much urine he actually leaks and it from what I understand it is just the occasional drop and not continuous.

Bucc is a good looking boy.
