Skin irritation & mucus in stool

Hello,

My dog is a 6lb long haired chihuahua who is like my child. I'm starting to get worried... A couple days ago she started itching a lot, when I started to look into the places she was itching there are red bumps there and some are scabs from her itching so much. They're on her sides, back of her legs, and one on her head. I thought it was just spring allergies (can dogs get those?) we started giving her children's benedryl. Well, now she has stopped eating... All she would eat today was a little bit of cheese. She had a little bit of mucus in her stool and threw up a small amount of mucus.
We did change her food recently from beneful (heard about it causing liver issues) to simply noutrish which is all natural, just food ingredients and vitamins so I wasn't sure if she could really be allergic to anything in there. Does it sound like a food allergy?
I read up on mucus in stool and it said it could be worms? :(
My fiancé took her to the vet there other day and she said "oh she's fine, just a bug bite or a grass rash"... I feel like she just picked an answer shoved him out the door and took the money.
Any suggestions??? I want her to be happy.. :( I'm so worried.

If you don't trust the vet, get a reference from a friend or someone you know and go to another vet. You should NOT feel like the vet just took the cash and didn't give a crap.

It could just be the food though that is giving the dooger skin allergies.

But that's a big could given that it could also be something else.

I don't know how long it's been since the dog has stopped eating but if it's more than 1 day, then this requires another vet visit. If this were my dog, he would be seeing a new vet asap just to be safe.

Good luck!

I would look for another vet and take your baby right away.

Yes it could be allergies, or it could be a bug bite, but it could also be many other things and neither one of them should be treated as "oh she is just fine go home" specially if she has now stop eating.
