Frustrated...Need some suggestions
 

I have a kitten he is 7 months old, he was my daughters cat but he now lives with us because where she moved she couldn't take him. Anyways when she had him she wasn't always constant on cleaning his litter box so he has gotten into the habit of peeing on clothing.Now that we have him the litter box is kept clean but he still goes pee on clothes. What can i do to get him to stop doing this???

Don't leave any clothes on the floor and buy some cat odor removal to clean the floor or rug . You need to remove the smell of the urine from the floor and clothes or your cat will think it's still OK to pee in the same spot.
Maybe someone else will have some other suggestions.

welcome to the site! if you havent done so already I would take the kitty for a quick check up. it sounds like it might have a urinary infection. alot of kitties will urinate outside the box as a way of letting you know something is up. the kitten maybe associates the pain it might be experiencing from an infection with the litter box so it will go outside of it.

as others have said you need to be sure you have cleaned the area with an enzyme cleaner or your kitty will still smell the urine that is already there!

You need to make the litter box more enticing for your cat to use and the clothes, less so. Which for sure means picking up the clothes in the first place to eliminate the temptation. Get a laundry hamper or throw them in the closet and close the door.

What kind of litter box do you use (covered or not?), and how many are there? If it's the same litter box that your daughter allowed to get overly "ripe", then perhaps it's time to get a new one. Also, if it's a covered box, many cats prefer an uncovered one (although there are exceptions - a few cats like covered ones better, so offering a choice might be a good idea). I'd also suggest having 2 litter boxes because many cats (mine included) don't like to urinate and defecate in the same box.

What type of litter? If it's scented, it really shouldn't be. Cat's noses are way more sensitive to odours than ours and the strong perfumes could put them off using a litter box.
