Has anyone read "My Sister's Keeper"?
I am doing a project for teacher's college and I am trying to decide if this book would be appropriate for a grade 9 or 10.
Thanks! |
Meh. It depends on the maturity level. Personally, I thought the book AND movie were horrible.
For the record I'm 18, but I'm on a different level than most people my age. The book was nothing special as far as it didn't have any "big words" and was a breeze to get through. The ending sucked, but I mean besides a few curse words in the book and a bit of sadness, I suppose it would be on a 9th or 10th grade level. |
I read it about 2 or 3 years ago....I loved it, I didn't find the ending sucked, I was surprised......I'd recommend it and think it gives food for thought.
I was in 9th and 10th grade about 50 years ago, so I guess Kathryn that doesn't say much about my maturity level  |
thanks for the input guys!

I read the book a few months back, I was rather disappointed. I just recently seen the movie, which had a completely different ending than the book. The movie failed to impress me any more than the book did, altho Judge the dog was really cute.
As for a grade level...I'd say the book is appropriate for those in grade 9 and up. |
I read it a couple years ago and I think it's age appropriate and yes there's food for thought there. I read another Jodi Picoult book and didn't love it...I think maybe they're formulaic? But I did like My Sister's Keeper.
