Hello from Jeju-do (South Korea)
G'day, Anj here!!
I stumbled across this site while looking for ways to get my precious Aija to stop biting. She is a 4 month old calico kitten and I have now had her for 2 1/2 months. I didn't realize how young she was when I accidently ended up with her. I am thankful for finding this site as Korea isn't the most cat friendly country therefore making it a bit difficult at times to get info or a variety of cat items. And, yes she is coming home to Canada with me when I finally decide to leave. I look forward to using this site regularily for a source of information and when I can contribute I definately will do so. |
...Does your kitty have toys to play with? She is still young...cats will bite & play?
Cindy
she has some. apparently bobby pins are a fave for the time being. i think i will also have some sent from canada as i can buy some here but not much for selection. and we are still going to be here for quite awhile. i was also thinking of heading to the art supply store to pick up some feathers. put them on a string with a bell. maybe let it soak in a bag of catnip... :) |
baby Aija's so cute:cloud9:
|
Welcome to you! Your kitten is just lovely.
A little calico, she appears to be.. very sweet.:cloud9: |
we are going to go have a play date with simon (bottom pik) tonight! she loves him so much. she is going to be so upset when he leaves (that and i will too as his owner is ona my best friends here on the island)
she is a sweetheart, but she has a very dominant personality. wow. i cant believe i lived my first year here in korea without her. is it normal for calicos to be overly vocal? she is always talking. one time i accidently locked her outta the bathroom while i was having a shower and you would'v thought the world was going to end at the way she howled to get in. |
anjelle, first off WELCOME and South Korea, wow, interesting:thumbs up
Your kitty is adorable, love Calicos, but she is a kitten and they do playbite,my hands used to look like roadmaps when my cats were babies. Instead of using your hands to play, use foil or paper made into little balls, regular string or really anything..kittens will play with anything, does not have to be storebought toys. I would not let her play with Bobby-Pins though:eek: I don't think beeing vocal is a Calico trait, some cats are vocal others are not and you have a vocal kitten:cat: When you have her spayed, try to find a good vet,we had a horrorstory of a botched up spay, but of course South Korea is not like China, where it happened. |
i think i have a good vet.
i am also friends with his son who is a vet in the army in seoul. although my friend will be back in jeju by the time its time to get her fixed. but i am going next week to meet a new vet as well so i can decide between the two. ya. im a little worried about getting her fixed. it doesnt seem like its such a common practice for pet owners like it is at home. |
is it normal for calicos to be overly vocal?
calico is not a breed. It's just a name for the combination of fur color. I have a calico too :cloud9: But some cats are vocal, some aren't. She just enjoys talking to you especially when she wants your attention. My other cat only meows when she wants to wake me up to play with her or she wants food. |
