lyme disease

Can some one tell me if lyme disease can be transmitted from a mom pug to a baby pug. Also what about blindness that is not genetic. I really need to know soon.

To my knowledgs and research,it can not be passed on...Just like you can't get it from your dog. It's the initial "tick" that causes it.

Does your dog have it?

Here is a link to look at.

What do you mean by blindness that's not genetic?

blindness

They claim the father was not born that way it came from abuse from previous owner. No its not my dog it`s some one who is selling puppies.

Ok,guess I'm just confused a bit.

So,is the father of these pups blind?

Pugs do have problems with their eyes.

I take it these dogs that were used for breeding have not been health and genetic tested?

No they were not. although they will come w/health certs. I`m concerened about the future health of the puppy. The original owner told her that that father was injured from being scratched by another dog & the dog went blind because pug eyes are very sensitive. The vet dose not see signs of previous injury, but can`t say thats not what happened. The dog dose recieve eye meds 4 times a day. My main concern is the puppy if I get it. I don`t know what to do.

Geez,I really wish people would leave breeding to the experts.I'm sorry, but there is no way a responsible breeder would use a blind dog as a stud.

Are these dogs show dogs?do they have any titles?Do they even know the pedigrees? Are they into rescue?

Sorry for preaching, but it just ticks me off that unwanted puppies are coming into this world...And they are ending up in rescues and shelters...

Ok,now back to you....Have you researched this breed?

If I were you,I wouldn't get this pup. This could be a genetic problem.
