Thank you to those who help the ferals
A poem I came across on a website:
http://snki.weebly.com/pictorial-progress-of-bath-institution-foster-kittens.html THOUGHTS OF A FERAL (Annette Easdon) * Dedicated by the author to all the kind and caring people who give the lonely ferals a little care, a little love, and a little hope. I sit beneath the bushes as she fills my dish each day, I only venture out to eat when she has gone away, I know it will upset her when I turn away and hide, As every day she tries her best to get me by her side. I wish that I could let her know that I don't want to run, And hope that she will understand it's nothing that SHE's done. I'd like to have her stroke me and pat my weary head, But fear will overcome and I'll run and hide instead. For all the kindly people who feed the strays each day, I pray the Lord will care for them as they have cared for me. |
What a beautiful poem.

very nice, we can relate to all those feelings with past ferals we have tried to help.

Lovely poem....and I know so many of us see ourselves in it and have had those same thoughts....why does he have to run away?
I usually have at least one feral showing up every morning for breakfast, I worry about him if he doesn't show up....what happened overnight, is he hurt? Bless all the angels who do what they can...the life of a feral is not one of choice, they deserve a bit of kindness and a full tummy whenever possible. |
The person who wrote this poem really got into the heart of how those who feed the ferals feel. I remember those feelings when I first got Rose and she would hiss at me when I would go into her room to feed her or just sit with her and her baby.

L4,I know this is an older post, but I did not see it in July,it got me filling up with tears, thinking of Tux and others from over the yeare.
But especially Tux,whom I loved very much..Thank's L4 |
I was thinking of Tux just yesterday and wondering how he was making out.

L4H thank you for posting that!

L4H,I am sure he's at the Bridge, but that's ok,no more pain or cold wintry days, nobody would be feeding him, thinking he was"ugly"with his crocked jaw,I think he was beautiful..
I will always feel I betrayed the little trust he had in me:( |

I will always feel I betrayed the little trust he had in me:(
I wouldn't be so sure about that. You wouldn't believe the amount of food there is in the country for a cat, and the places they can hide. For the little amount of time that Jasper is outside, he can catch a mouse or chipmunk each time he is outside if I would let him. :grouphug: |
