Has anyone used dog saddle bags?

I was thinking about making a set...in the summer I carry a back pack where ever I go. I put toys water bags towels..ect. I was thinking they could carry it. Good idea or not?

I have a doggie back pack I made this winter. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to. What kind of dog do you have (you have dalmatians, right)? I have a mini Poodle X, so I can't make him carry a lot of stuff, but if you have a big dog, you could get him to carry more. I've seen dog backpacks at stores, so you could buy one for your dog. Don't load the poor dogs up so much that they are straining, and load the packs evenly. It might even be a good idea to carry the pack and let them have a break once in a while.

I've used them for years! I don't carry much...but water & incidentals, keys, smokes... :D
Haven't made any, though.
I believe a dog can carry up to a third of its weight comfortably if the backpack is properly fitted & sits right.
