he is on r d , i have tried many dog foods, in the past few months , the r.d for over a yr, were stumped, brenda and the pins.

Have they done a scraping for demodex mange? I knew a beagle that had a very localized patch for a very long time... It's a long shot, though, since normally the mange would spread... :o

What dog foods have you tried? Any with a single novel protein and carb source (like venison and sweet potato)? The R/D is pretty horrible stuff, consisting mostly of corn (common allergen), soy (also common allergen) and sawdust (which is basically what 'powdered cellulose' is). I would seriously revist the diet issue, even if it isn't directly causing the skin problem.
INGREDIENTS Ground Whole Grain Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Powdered Cellulose 10.4% (source of fiber), Soybean Mill Run, Soybean Meal, Chicken Liver Flavor, Dried Beet Pulp, Soybean Oil, ....
|
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm he has been on rd for awhile, no reaction, i just changed his bowl tonight, to plastic, but maby i should bring a scraping for them to test, i clean his mouth on a daily basis he has been on r d for awhile, this just all of a sudden came up, what do you think

Allergies to food often take time to develop, sometimes even years.
