Infection after Pyometra surgery
Thank you everyone for the replies!

I know nothing about this, but just a quick thought about the antibiotics...
Often it takes more than two days to kick in, but soon I would expect the discharge to get better, and not be the same and definitely not get worse. I also wonder if 10 days is enough. This isn't something I would want to mess around with, so I would want a long enough course. For uti's my vet said to give until the symptoms are gone, and then give 5 days longer than that. With infection, often, so worried about overuse of abx, vets are under treating in some cases. |

I called the vet this morning and he was surprised that there was still fluid leaking from her incision. He told us to bring her in for a checkup and didn't sound concerned at all. Will be phoning and scheduling an appointment elsewhere :( |
Seeking a second opinion is a good thing to do - best of luck, hope it clears up quickly :fingerscr

I agree with M.L and suggest a visit to a referred 2nd vet as soon as possible. Good luck

If you're still in need of a recommendation for a Vet in Vancouver, I can give you a few recommendations, these are all great clinics but not the cheapest - just remember as with everything else you get what you pay for. Good Luck :goodvibes:
