Whisper filter manual
 

Have taken apart my filter to clean it and can't get it working again. Need someone with manual or web site to re-assemble the inner parts. Thanks.

Which model?

if you dont know what model it is, what size is your tank? is it inside the tank or hanging off the back? if you look on the inside where the propeller is, there should be a little round magnet the size of a pencil eraser that goes into a slot so that the propeller is on the top. then you should be able to set the water intake thingie on top of that.

keep an eye on your ammonia after cleaning the entire filter box out. :) do you have a test kit?? you didnt clean the entire tank out did you??

Thanks for the help, yep I washed everything out with Sunlight soap - just kidding.:laughing: This is a 120 volt for a 30 gal. aquarium that hangs outside the tank. I understand that the propeller goes in the slot first, then the eraser looking thing and these have a steel pin going through them with a tiny rubber knob at each end. Am having problems with the black thing that goes on top of these that the tubing fits into.

Thanks want4rain & Kinguni - finally got the rubber tip secured and everything is now working. No I didn't clean the whole tank just rinced out the filter and tubing.

Good to hear. I kept aquariums for a few years but recently got out. Sounds like you disassembled it to far when you cleaned it.

gawd, i hate trying to get the intake tube back in. if its not lined up perfectly it fits in funny, if you push it too far in it doesnt work... i *love* aquaclear because its almost impossible to mess it up. :)

You can't really disassemble a filter too far, it just takes a few times doing it and they're pretty simple to put back together.

At this point I think I could completely take apart my filters and put them back together with my eyes closed, lol. Of course I have, oh, as an estimate 22+ filters up and running. Some in storage, 4 xp3 canister filters sitting my kitchen that I need to break down and clean really good.

Take a filter apart and put it back together several times and it shouldn't be hard at all :D. Most are a really simple design for a reason.

Oh, I could too, but there are some parts on HOB filters, the impeller assemblies for instance, that one might take apart when really it's not meant to be taken apart.

You mean the actual impeller? I don't see how you could get that apart.

The assemblies themselves can usually be taken apart so the impeller can be fully cleaned or replaced.

If you mean the housing the the motor that would be impossible on every filter I've seen unless you take a screw driver and try to open it maybe. Many are completely molded closed so you can't even do that.
