constipation in prostate enlarged dog

Help. I am living in Laos and vet support is extremely limited. I took my 8 year old dog to a clinic in Thailand yesterday. They were able to x-ray him and saw that the prostate is enlarged. He has had a severe urine infection which was treated a month ago and now has difficulty passing stools. He is on a course of Nofloxacin for two weeks but I was wondering if there is anything I can give him to make the stool looser and therefore less painful for him to pass?
