Ah the things we do for progress...

Well I was searching for some recent garden pictures to share with you guys since we've gotten a little done in the yards again since the storm... But all I could really find was this one of the side bed. (Yes it's a little overgrown.. I prefer to call it "controlled wilderness".)

BUT the real reason I don't have a lot of recent garden pictures.. is the entire yard and garden looks a lot like this right now.... We had a sprinkler/irrigation system installed... So it looks like we have been invaded by giant gophers. :)

LOL at the "gopher holes!" Wow, that must be some sprinkler system though! With mine, it was installed in a few hours and the grass was cut, turned over, and then laid right back down again. Could hardly tell and it grew back over within a few weeks. But I LOVE your gardens!!! They look beautiful to me!!!! I wish I could get mine to be overgrown like that! It's gorgeous!

Oh Smiley!! That's what I was expecting too!! Everyone else we knew who had the sprinklers installed just had little trenches and it was all very low-key.... But these guys moved in on the yard with a vengeance. It took FOUR full working days (from like 6 am til 6 pm) to install the thing... Uh... I think it's cause I ended up hiring a commercial crew to do this -- they install the systems for like golf courses and casinos and stuff. I don't think they're familiar with how to 'scale-down' a project. LOL

But thank you very very much!! I love to garden. I'll try to get pictures once the trenches are covered and the beds repaired.

Gopher trenches or not - your "controlled wilderness" looks beautiful to me!

Yeah...I have to agree--I would like a few of those "controlled wildernesses" at my house! They actually look thick enough to prevent the easy passage of dogs. :thumbs up Exactly what I need to keep the dogs out of my gardens! :D And beautiful to boot! :cloud9:

Thanks JanM! And hazel, too....

And hazel -- yes! That is definitely one reason why I try to keep all the gardens really thick. Especially cause we use pine straw as mulch -- and any dog will tell you that pine straw is the perfect place to sprawl on those hot summer days (and who has time to check for delicate new plants when sprawling??) Soooo I try to keep most of it as inaccessible as possible. (er but of course they have one section in the back that is nothing but straw with a little bit of fern for shade.... cause they love it sooo much). I swear as soon as there is so much as a foot path between plants you can bet that it will become dog super-highway over night... So I have to stay on top of things. :P
