Vaccinations 3x for puppies?

I recently switched to a wholistic vet as I wasn't impressed with the last vet I went to. I took my puppy in one last time thinking he was going to get new shots. When I came home and discovered that he had been vaccinated for the 3rd time for distemper and parvovirus, it broke my heart. What exactly is the reasoning behind doing these innoculations 3x (besides $$$)?

For building up immunities.

The idea behind multiple vaccinations is to gradually build up resistance to these (very serious) diseases. One vaccination is not enough, and will not provide a secondary immune response. Yes it costs more money now, but just like most expenses for your furbaby, it's worth it.

I agree. The immune system is slower than we think. You have to scare it a few times before it gets the hint.
